Final touches between fashion, architecture and design

Everything is ready for “Final Work 2016” of the students of the Accademia Italiana on stage at AltaRoma fashion events.
To underline the interaction between fashion, architecture and design the show will begin with “sculpture garments” inspired by the work of the great master Roberto Capucci and created in a group project by the first year students under the guidance of instructors Ilenia Alessi and Roberto Tranchina with the technical textiles offered through the sponsorship of Klopman International. On the catwalk garments inspired by particular design currents such as minimalism, eclecticism and deconstructionism while leaving space for revisiting the classic abaya, traditional garments worn by women in the Arab Emirates where the students visited last year. A project that consolidated the collaboration with the Sharjah Business Women Council. The projects design by the third year students also look towards the Emirates as these collections used the precious hand-woven accessories created by the local Emirati women according to the ancient “talli” technique. These garments follow rigorous forms sculpted like the architectural works of Tadao Ando and Ludwig Mies Wan Der Rohe with a collection of warm tones from greys that light-up with lime greens that define the details. The garments that emulate the forms of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe show masculine forms and the swing of the Zoot suits. Another inspirational style is stolen from the geometry of architects Daniel Libeskind, Peter Eseinman and Frank Gehry to create decomposed forms made precious by the union of diverse fabrics such as duchesse, eco-leather and lurex to give metallic effects and tones from gold, black and electric blue.
