On Monday, November 14, 2011 at the Accademia Italiana in Florence a conference was held by Prof. Romeo Guaricci with the presentation of his latest book Metodologia Progettuale del Graphic Design, published by Hoepli, Milan 2010.
The author began his career of industrial and graphic designer in Rome, during the time when masters such as Giulio Carlo Argan, Bruno Munari, Albe Steines and many others were emerging.
Romeo Guaricci had his own master in the famous painter and visual communicator, Achille Perilli.
During the 1980's Guaricci published various volumes on Graphic design and in the meantime the first official recognitions and awards for his works began to come in, while in 1989 he was chosen for the Compasso d'Oro (Golden Compass Award) with his Optical calendar.
In the volume presented at the Accademia Italiana in Florence, Prof. Guaricci introduces with extreme clarity the products of a teaching method.
His textbook is articulated in five chapters:
1. Elements of basic design
2. The coordinated image
3. The poster
4. The calendar
5. Signs
The lesson, attended by students in the courses of Industrial design, Graphic design and Interior design elicited great interest as evidenced during the debate that followed.
