The Accademia Italiana proposes 4 different kinds of study programs. Each kind is directed at a precise training necessity.
The Academic Courses are divided into 6 academic semesters (3 years of study) except for the Textile Design program (2 years of study), the Window Displays program (2 semesters) and the Drawing and Painting program (of variable length).
For the courses of Fashion Design, Interior and Product Desig, Graphic Design, Photography and New Media, and Costume Design it is possible to attend a basic course (first year), a professional level course, (second year) and an advanced level course (third year). An appropriate certificate or diploma is awarded at the end of each year of study. At the end of the third year, upon successful completion of all relative exams, the Accademia Italiana will award its diploma while the University of Wales will award its bachelor's degree.
Students may begin these programs in September or in January, with the exception of the Photography and New media programm in Florence and the programs offered in Rome
The student may apply for admission to one of the advanced semesters documenting the level of studies with a curriculum and portfolio of his/her works. The academic courses consist of the following programs:
FASHION DESIGN - INTERIOR AND PRODUCT DESIGN - GRAPHIC DESIGN AND VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS - PHOTOGRAPHY AND NEW MEDIA – TEXTILE DESIGN - WINDOW DISPLAYS DESIGN - DRAWING AND PAINTINGThe Master Courses: are directed at those who have finished the academic courses in "fashion design or in "interior design" and those coming from other schools or universities who wish to specialize in one of these areas (level of studies must be documented). The masters courses last one year (2 academic semesters). The courses run from the beginning of October to the end of May. Two different programs are offered: "Interior and product design" and "Fashion design".
The Summer Courses: these programs last one month and are held in the months of June, July and in some cases August . Particularly indicated for those who wish to spend their vacation in an original and profitable manner, acquiring new knowledge and skills.
Among the courses available:
Italian language, drawing and painting, fashion design, fashion illustration,art history, italian, photography, design, yacht design.
Italian language and culture programs are organized are organized by the Italian language department and are available year-round (except December).
Other courses are also available through this department and are illustrated in the catalog (which can be obtained through the secretary's office). These courses are also directed at foreign students who plan on attending the academic programs or the masters programs.
Preparatory courses of Italian language are strongly advised for foreign students.
