MONTHLY COURSES
In addition to the academic programs which last four semesters and to the one year master's courses the school offers, throughout the year, monthly courses and summer courses dedicated to those students who, because of study, professional or family reasons cannot attend the regular courses, offering them a stimulating cultural and professional experience. The monthly courses and the workshops have been created in such a way that each student can study or improve his or her abilities in some area of personal interest.
Studio Art: Drawing and Painting
The artistic subjects, such
as drawing and painting, are proposed by the Accademia
Italiana both as academic courses (which can be attended
for one or more semesters) as well as short courses
that can be attended for one or more months, or as a
summer course. The monthly courses can be attended for
40 hours per month (standard course) or 80 hours per
month (intensive course). These courses are held in
the spacious art studio situated just a few steps away
from the headquarters of the Accademia in the area that
houses the laboratories for artistic and artisan work
typical of the Florentine world. The instructors follow
each student on an individual level, guiding them from
their basic knowledge and abilities, working on the
personal capacities to develop the expressive possibilities
of each student. Various subjects and techniques are
covered, among them nude drawing, life drawing, painting
techniques, composition of various materials, art history
and theory of art. The course is completed with seminars
and guided visits of museums and exhibitions.
The students
are often invited to participate in exhibitions and
creative events with their works.
