Packaging becomes a tool for storytelling, identity and positioning in the new project developed by second-year Graphic Design students in collaboration with Fattoria Triboli, an organic farm in Tuscany specialising in extra virgin olive oil production.
The design project involved the young designers in the conception and creation of the visual identity for a new bottle of organic extra virgin olive oil intended for the market. This opportunity allowed the students to tackle a real-world case study, engaging with the demands of a brand and the dynamics of the contemporary market.
Taking a glass bottle as their starting point and guided by the key concepts of originality, elegance and distinctiveness, the Graphic Design students developed designs that stand out from Fattoria Triboli’s existing product range, whilst remaining true to the brand’s values.
The students explored various methods of applying graphics, from traditional labelling to screen printing and shrink-film applications, assessing their visual impact, feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
The final designs resulted in a variety of interpretations, all united by the aim of transforming a bottle of oil into a product that conveys quality, territorial identity and character.
