Textile design
Among
the opportunities offered by the Accademia Italiana
a program of Textile design, a discipline
that has such ancient roots and that has made such an
important contribution to the destiny of the city of
Florence could not have been left out.
The textile design course is divided into four academic semesters, the first two make up the basic course, and the third and fourth semesters make up the advanced course. The students will be working in professional studios, where they have well-equipped laboratories available including computers with software specific to textile design.
The best creations of the students will be shown to the public in exhibitions, thus creating contacts with the outside world and with the industries. The textiles created are sometimes studied for use in fashion design while others are created specifically for use in furnishings and interior design. The subjects cover both the theory and practical side of textile design. The textile designer is an indispensable figure within the industry, with wide-ranging professional possibilities within the production reality. It is a profession in which the creative capacities go hand in hand with technical training.
