The partnership with Accademia Italiana aims to bring the designers of the future closer to the world of sustainability in textiles and in particular to the reality of the Prato industrial district, unique in the world and since the 1950s the pulsating heart of sustainable clothing production.

After an initial visit to the textile companies in Prato, IN.TES.PRA. launched a competition for third-year Fashion Design students, as part of the Textile Design course, to design and revisit one of their carded wool fabrics with a recycled base, through the creation of a customised pattern.

At the end of the course, the company selected two winning projects: that of Sofia Elena Barella with a puzzle module that recalls the comfort of Linus' blanket, and Fausto Ineri who focuses on gaming and creates a module inspired by the pixel.

As a prize, the two students will receive the production of 25 metres of the designed fabric, its inclusion in the company's collection and the opportunity to present the fabric, which will bear the student's name, at trade fairs such as Première Vision, Milano Unica, Munich and London Textile Fair.

The aim of the proposal is to enhance and make even more recognisable the company's core-business, i.e. 'Cardato Rigenerato', and to encourage tomorrow's creatives to reflect on the importance of recycled fabrics, teaching them the various working phases of a textile company.
