Fondazione Bitossi and Accademia Italiana put on display the students’ work at Cèeramica 2023

On display at Cèramica, until July 16, the projects born from the collaboration between the Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation Masters’ students of Accademia Italiana. From Fashion to Graphics and Photography to Design, the students were inspired by the historical products of the archive collection, reworking or telling the tradition of ceramics with the eyes of Generation Z.

Accademia Italiana during the academic year 2022-2023, has launched a new project with the Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation, a Florentine institution that aims at the enhancement and dissemination of culture, historical and scientific research of ceramic art.

The first step involved students and teachers on a visit to the Archivio Museo Bitossi where they were able to see first-hand the processing and the ceramic products of Bitossi. The tour, led by Dr Marina Vignozzi, scientific curator of the Historical Archives, was the spark from which the projects that will be on display from June 16 at the event Cèramica 2023. Students from the four departments of Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Product Design and Photography were inspired by the iconic collections of the historical archive, they reworked the ceramic tradition with the eyes of Generation Z, working closely with the company and the Foundation, in the design of new elements that go to merge the centuries-old experience of manufacturing with cultures and personal stories.

The Master in Product Design has designed table lamps inspired by the lines and characteristics of the historic brand.

The students of the Master in Fashion & Textile Design have created fabric lampshades designed through textile manipulation, blending morphological references of the company’s products with sometimes primordial references.

The Master in Photography class has taken architectural, documentary, still life and portrait portraits within the company and the Foundation.

The Master in Graphic Design has put itself to the test by designing two editorial projects: the first tells the most famous designers and their collections, the second illustrates the different techniques of production and processing of ceramics.

The projects selected by the Vittoriano Bitossi Foundation are exhibited at Cèramica 2023 event, from June 16 to July 16 at the historic headquarters of Bitossi in Montelupo Fiorentino, City of the Ceramic.
