International fashion & design gurus at year-end event by Accademia Italiana

This year music has been the inspirational theme for the graduating classes in Fashion, Interior and Graphic design.

The results of their research will be presented to the public on 22 April 2010, at the Saschall Theatre (Lungarno Aldo Moro, Florence).

The evening's events will begin at 17.30 with the design exhibition Design & Music, followed at 19.30 by a fashion show presenting the collections of the Bachelor's Degree and Master's courses.

The Costume Design students of the Accademia Italiana, Rome will also present their creations together with the students from affiliated schools in Bangkok and Skopje.

During the evening, the Accademia's Pyramids of Excellence will be awarded for the 6th time, and this year's awards will go to:

John Richmond: English fashion designer linked to the world of rock music, he has dressed celebrities such as Madonna, George Michael, Mick Jagger, Annie Lennox. John Richmond will attend together with his Italian manager, Saverio Moschillo (Vice President of the Italian National Chamber of Fashion;

Terry Jones: legendary director of the British design magazine ID, graphic designer and artistic director of Vogue UK, he has devoted his life to innovation in the field of visual communication;

Piero Gandini: President of Flos, a leading lighting company whose credits include world-class designers such as Castiglioni, Citterio, Scarpa, and Starck;

Giuseppe Zanotti: for his high quality shoes, such as those designed for Michael Jackson and Beyoncé;

Franco Penè: cutting edge entrepreneur, whose company GI.Bò works for leading fashion brands such as Rochas, March Jacobs, John Galliano, Paulk Smith, Chloé, Roberto Cavalli Uomo, Antonio Marras;

Denis Santachiara: innovative designer of international acclaim, winner of the Golden Compass Award;

Andrea Panconesi: with his Luisa via Roma, he has created a new dimension of multimedia fashion boutique.

The events created by the students for the evening also include the presentation of videos on the theme, featuring music by DJ Alex Neri.
