Moda Futura is promoted by the Lazio Innova’s Spazio Attivo network in collaboration with Unindustria and is part of the broader initiatives through which the Lazio Region, also in partnership with the Municipality of Rome, is supporting and enhancing the fashion sector. The programme serves as an experimental platform for entrepreneurial support initiatives, including design marathons, startup competitions, and co-design laboratories, developed in response to the needs expressed by the industry.
Seven students from Accademia Italiana—Federico Carloni, Sofia Pontoriero, Sofia Elena Barella, Camilla Di Cesare, Sara Colarusso, Giorgia Pirolo, and Alice Costantini—were selected to participate in the laboratory, an intensive programme structured into four phases. The programme included networking events and company visits with leading fashion entrepreneurs, designed to inspire participants and encourage dialogue with the market; training sessions covering design thinking, sustainability, fashion trends, and business models, supported throughout by coaches, tutors, and industry experts; and the development of each participant's entrepreneurial concept through prototyping, using the technologies available at the Regional FabLab, alongside the creation of a comprehensive business and product management model.
The programme concluded with the Demo Day, the laboratory's final event, during which each participant presented their business project—including the commercial strategies through which they aim to enter the fashion market of the future—together with their prototypes to an audience of industry professionals and public and private stakeholders.
The prototypes were subsequently showcased in the exhibition "Moda Futura – Business Creation Laboratory for Young Talents from Lazio", held at the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia.
