Meet the companies and do workshops with Accademia Italiana's international programs

A five-day study trip was made by the last-year students of the three-year and two-year fashion courses, who flew from Florence and Rome campuses to Paris to visit the largest global event for fashion professionals.

Thanks to Accademia Italiana's participation in the Erasmus+ programme, students and teachers were able to take advantage of international mobility by organizing a trip to Paris on the occasion of the Première Vision fashion fair. This allowed them not only to visit the main exhibition of the fashion market, but also to come into contact and carry out training activities with the Ecole EAC, a school specialized in the field of culture, the art and luxury market, which belongs to the international AD Education group.

During their visit to Première Vision, the students were able to interact with the main players in the sector who were presenting fabrics, materials, accessories and services for the fashion industry, as well as advancing eco-responsible transformation and innovation by analyzing the main ecological challenges. Furthermore, on the day dedicated to students, there were numerous talks about colors and fabrics trends for the Spring/Summer 2025 season, and about new technologies and the digitalisation of production processes.

The day spent at the Ecole EAC saw the students involved in three different workshops. The first focused on gemmology, the study of precious stones: the teacher explained the chemical compositions and characteristics of the most famous gemstones (diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds), going through the cutting and processes required to put them on the market.

The second workshop focused on the marketing of perfumes and cosmetics. Students were given an explanation of the marketing strategies adopted by perfume and cosmetics companies (both large-scale and niche), with particular emphasis on product storytelling.

The third workshop was about Fashion Auction and second-hand luxury. It was explained how a haute couture garment of the past can be sold through second-hand sites, making considerations on contemporary trends and market.

Finally, the students had numerous visits to museums and shops related to the fashion world, including the MAD Museum with its exhibition on Iris Van Herpen 'Sculpting the Senses', the Galerie Dior, the Petit Palais Galliera with its exhibition 'La Mode en mouvement' and the Musée du Quai Branly.
