In the next few days, the Scientific Committee will meet to discuss details of the AIFA (Accademia Italiana for Africa) project and give the go ahead to those Fashion Design students selected from the Fashion Show held on 20th April, for the production of the prototypes selected from their various proposals, that will be sent to the Ethiopian companies responsible for the production.
The paper patterns and prototypes of the garments for the mini collection (the works of six students selected from the meeting held last July) that after they have been produced by the African women involved in the project, will be sold next Spring in the La Rinascente shops all over Italy.
Heading the AIFA project, is Franca Sozzani, the Director of Vogue Italia, who for a long time, has been involved in charity work and is the Ambassador for the humanitarian project “F4D” in collaboration with the President of the Accademia Italiana, Dr. Vincenzo Giubba and Mr. Sudhitham Chirathivat, the CEO of the retail group Central, of which La Rinascente is part of.
