Graphic Design and Photography, a fantastic journey of 22 projects

A variety of fonts, beautiful calligraphy, the mystery of a marker able to create thousands of shades of color, images of rugged faces or characters borrowed from Surrealism… these are some of the images presented by the Graphic Design and Photography students in their elegant publication, “Photo- Graphic Journey”.

“The Journey” was the theme that inspired the 22 projects illustrated in the volume edited by Virginia Benucci (who designed the cover) and Matteo Oliveri (layout), who worked together with Graphic Design and Photography professors Walter Conti and Paolo Colaiocco. The collection of images represents hypothetical journeys to the future of the written word, interpreted for example in the semantics of the human body or in the secrets of the interior world.

In this volume the graduating students of the Accademia Italiana leave behind examples of the best work from their final year of studies; for example, Samuele Frosini’s ornamental script and Noemi Alunni’s interpretation of the body in movement.  There is also Lorenzo Acciaia’s journey through a hyperbaric chamber and Guglielmo Profeti’s investigation of the human identity. Cristina Sani’s images also make a strong impact. Her journey, at times ironic or surreal, is inspired by Rodney Smith’s photography. No less interesting is Michele Michelsanti’s conceptual photography, while among the Graphic Design students, Davide Perella’s game of underground mirrors fascinates.
