Rome, 5 November 2024
For the first time, the collections created by the young designers of a fashion school arrive directly in a prestigious store: the partnership between Accademia Italiana and COIN is renewed and expanded, opening up the spaces in Via Cola di Rienzo in Rome to Fashion Design students. In November and December, the outfits created by the graduates as the final work of their studies will be exhibited alongside the most sought-after brands selected by the COIN Excelsior store.
Two months to enter the market from a privileged point of view, for the young designers, but also two months to immerse themselves in the fashion of the future, from the point of view of COIN customers. Sartorial textile manipulation, left-over fabrics, creative upcycling, embroidery and appliqués give rise to collections that make the imagination travel. Bright colours, 80's mood, alternating with darker or iridescent palettes, play together to create visual effects that fill the eye of the beholder.
The outfits were created by Sofia Angelino, Sofia Elena Barella, Federica Cefariello, Camilla Di Cesare, Fadwa Hussein, Giada Iantosca, Fausto Ineri, Elisa Macchiavelli, Michelle Manzoni, Iris Peyer and Elisabetta Salatino, embellished with accessories by the students of the Jewelry Design course, Natalia Marti Bruderer and Negar Sanaei. Coordinating the work of the young talents were the teachers, Gianluca Santangelo, Patrizia Valentini and Ilenia Alesse.
The partnership between the Accademia Italiana and COIN Excelsior opened at the beginning of 2024 with a transversal project that involved the students of the two-year Fashion Design & Management, Fashion and Textile Design, Contemporary Jewelry Design, the three-year Photography course and the professional course in Fashion Photography and Styling coordinated by lecturers Barbara Annunziata and Tania Alineri. Through still life shootings, in-store shootings and reels, communication content was created to be proposed to the Coin department store for social channels.
Now the new step, which will see further future collaborations, with the opportunity to display the outfits in store: a goal for many aspiring fashion professionals, which is realized even before entering the job market.
