Design bursts onto the catwalk

Minimalism, Eclecticism and Deconstructivism in the collections proposed in Rome during the July AltaRoma fashion show. The Final Work 2016 produced by the students of the Accademia Italiana chose to underline the interaction between fashion, architecture and design.

Opening the show in the former customs house of the capital were the "sculptured garments" inspired by the works of the great master Roberto Capucci and created in a group project by students
of the first year of Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design in Rome under the guidance of their instructors Ilenia Alesse and Roberto Tranchina using the technical textiles provided by the sponsor Klopman International.
On the catwalk the collections created by the young designers fascinated by Eclecticism, which had significant influence on the Design of the 1980's. The garments were inspired by the works of the Group Alchimia, Philippe Starck, and Memphis Design. The students of the second year worked using simple forms enriched by block colors or reinterpreted by innovative digital techniques or hand painting. Spotlight also on the revisiting of the classic abaya, traditional garments worn by the women of the Arab Emirates where the students were guests last year. (Lof).
