Rome, June 23, 2025 - The world of Federico Fellini reinterpreted by the creativity of Accademia Italiana students
Rome, June 23, 2025
Titled "FellinIAna: Rome, Women, and the Dream" the event presented by Accademia Italiana will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, starting at 6 PM, at the Boscolo Hotel Circo Massimo in Rome. This is a unique opportunity where the dreamlike and surreal vision of the great master Federico Fellini is brought back to life through the language of design, fashion, photography, and cinema, thanks to the contemporary creativity of students awarded in the Call for Artists promoted by Accademia Italiana.
The event-evening, realized as part of the "Gran Tour AFAM" project supported by Next Generation EU, is the result of a formative and creative journey that involved the young talents of Accademia Italiana – from both the Florence and Rome campuses – in a series of masterclasses dedicated to Fellini's cinema and its influence on Made in Italy and the collective imagination. Fellini's universe, with its visionary and dreamlike power, continues to inspire generations of creatives today, stimulating new forms of narration and artistic experimentation.
On display will be 15 selected projects, including garments, sketches, photographs, jewelry, and short films, created by students from the Fashion Design, Jewelry Design, and Photography and Visual Arts courses. This collective narration explores the feminine universe, dreams, and the Rome of the Oscar-winning director, transforming them into creative material. The result is a visual and performative narrative that looks to the future, rooted in the legacy of the past. It's a unique occasion where the sensitivity and language of the new generations enter into direct dialogue with one of the greatest masters of cinema, creating a bridge between memory and present, poetic vision, and design research.
To make the atmosphere even more evocative, there will be performances by jugglers and acrobats from the Materiaviva Company and a theatrical intervention by actress Roberta Caronia, in the role of Fellini's Giulietta. The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by students from the Saint Louis College of Music, one of the partners of the "Gran Tour AFAM" project, along with RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, which will present a selection of short films created by its students within the project.
During the event, the official publication "FellinIAna: Rome, Women, and the Dream" published by Gangemi Editore, will also be presented. It was curated by project coordinators Ilenia Alesse, Chiara Ruberti, and Simone Fattori, and gathers images of the awarded works and short essays by the speakers who participated in the masterclasses.
The FellinIAna project will continue after the summer with a European tour, bringing the awarded works and their young authors to some creative capitals to tell, through design and visual arts, a new way of interpreting Made in Italy in the name of dreams and innovation.
