ART CITY BOLOGNA: IAAD AND ACCADEMIA ITALIANA PRESENT “MAKIN’ ITALY – TRAVELING EXHIBITION NIMI

Bologna, February 2, 2026 – On the occasion of Art City Bologna and the Art City White Night, IAAD Bologna and Accademia Italiana present Makin’ Italy – Traveling Exhibition NIMI | Bologna, on view from February 6 to 8, 2026 at the headquarted in via Jacopo Barozzi 3/m.

Curated by Lucrezia Nardi, the exhibition marks a stop in the NIMI project – The New Intelligence of Made in Italy. After its debut in Florence, the exhibition arrives in Bologna before continuing its journey through other Italian and European cities.

The exhibition explores Made in Italy as a constantly evolving design ecosystem, where three forms of intelligence intersect: manual intelligence, social intelligence, and artificial intelligence. Through design practices, prototypes, and installations created by the students involved in the NIMI project, the exhibition presents a production model capable of combining memory and innovation, craftsmanship and technology, gesture and algorithm.

IAAD and Accademia Italiana take part in the project together with Poliarte, SAE Institute, Schola, Abadir – Academy of Design and Visual Communication – and the University of Salerno, contributing to a shared reflection on the future of design and the contemporary transformation of Made in Italy.
