ALICE FRUENDI DESIGNS THE UNIFORMS

For the first time the Dragon Boat Festival will be held in Italy, and this international event, held only once every 4 years that sees competition between teams of women (and men) who have had surgery for breast cancer, will be celebrated in Florence.

The organization, linked to Lilt (Italian league in the fight against tumors), chose the Accademia Italiana to design the uniforms. Among the many proposals the uniform designed by Fashion Design student Alice Fruendi was chosen. The design was developed together with the Florence Dragon Lady team and the sponsor of this event, Giannelli Firenze. Alice chose the colors white and violet for this uniform that the athletes will wear during the Pink Parade which will officially open the tournament on July 6. On July 3 at 7 pm the Accademia Italiana will officially deliver the uniforms to the team for the Pink Parade that opens the IBCPC 2018. During the evening’s event it will be possible to preview the photography exhibition (open until July 12) dedicated to the project “Hand in hand” by Giulia Paola Mazzeo, recent graduate of the Photography and New Media bachelor’s degree program documenting her own mother’s journey in the fight against breast cancer.

Friday July 6, during the Pink Parade that will open the tournament, Accademia Italiana will open to the pubic the Loggia Temple Leader where the photography show will be held, with a launch of pink balloons.
