Rome's great fashion illuminates Villa Borghese. In a dream location to act as a natural backdrop, immersed in the greenery and history of our city, the Department of Major Events, Sports, Tourism and Fashion of Roma Capitale in collaboration with the Lazio Region is organizing ‘Forma Fashion Show’: 5 of Rome's leading Fashion Academies and hundreds of students to parade their creations, for the third consecutive year in an institutional project.

Rome, July 8, 2025

After the great success of the first winter edition of ‘Forma’ at Fuksas' Nuvola (you can read more about it here), the catwalk appointment with Rome's International Fashion Academies is back. In July 2023 and 2024 Piazza del Campidoglio hosted these two special evenings, now it will be Villa Borghese to host the students' final works.

On a 50-meter catwalk with 10 ledwalls and 800 seated places, the best young talents had the opportunity to show their works to the audience present in the hall and connected via streaming.

Accademia Italiana brought to the catwalk “YOUTHOPIA,” a visual and theoretical narrative that brings into dialogue the anxieties and impulses of the new generations. A project - curated by Matteo Ward - that questions the role of design in a time of crisis and transformation, shaping new imaginaries, values and possibilities. At a time when the new generations seem disillusioned about the future, utopia asserts itself as a necessary gesture: it is desire, vision, an act of resistance. Between criticism and hope, creativity becomes an active language, capable of proposing alternatives and redefining aesthetics, identities and ways of inhabiting the world.

Alessandro Onorato, Alderman of the Department of Major Events, Sports, Tourism and Fashion of Roma Capitale: "Enhancing new talents and supporting small-medium enterprises are the goals of this Administration. With ‘Forma Fashion Show’ we give the opportunity to hundreds of young people who have been studying fashion in Rome for years, in public institutes and private academies, to perform for free in iconic places. This is why, after two years in Piazza del Campidoglio, we chose Villa Borghese: it is a unique, unforgettable opportunity, and it is a demonstration of how much Rome believes in education and how much it wants to invest in young people. Rome is back central in the world of fashion and we are proud of that."
