Thanks to Accademia Italiana’s participation in the Erasmus+ programme, students and faculty were able to take advantage of international mobility by traveling to Paris for the Première Vision fashion fair. This allowed them not only to visit the leading trade exhibition in the sector, but also to connect and take part in educational activities with the École de Création Visuelle (ECV), a leading French school in the fields of Design, Animation, Gaming, and Digital, and part of the international AD Education network.
During their visit to Première Vision, students had the opportunity to interact with key players in the industry who were presenting textiles, materials, accessories, and services for the fashion sector, while also addressing eco-responsible transformation and innovation through the analysis of major environmental challenges.
An essential part of the mobility experience is building a network among students from different design schools and, thanks to the collaboration with ECV, students took part in two conferences led by international faculty members.
The first focused on how to integrate human-centered automation into UX and fashion design, from cinematic garments to readable interfaces: a dialogue on ethics, collaboration, and economic grounding in AI-based design practices.
The second conference explored how to read fashion—its symbols, history, and brands. Students examined how fashion creates meaning through history, semiotics, and branding. Using real examples from the luxury and sportswear sectors, they analyzed how garments and brands communicate identity, values, and cultural context.
The trip was further enriched by several visits to museums and fashion-related stores, including La Galerie Dior; the exhibition “Weaving, Embroidering, Embellishing: The Crafts and Trades of Fashion” at the Palais Galliera Museum; and the exhibition “Azzedine Alaïa and Christian Dior, Two Masters of Haute Couture” at the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation.
