Rome, November 25, 2025 - The creative journey of Maestro Federico Fellini arrives in the French capital

From November 19 to 21, three days of training took place with exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and creative cross-pollinations dedicated to the visionary universe of the celebrated director: a partnership between Accademia Italiana, ECV École de Création Visuelle, RUFA, and the Accademia Teatro alla Scala.

Following the success of the July event in Rome, Accademia Italiana, in partnership with ECV École de Création Visuelle, brought Fellini’s imagery to Europe with “FellinIAna goes to Paris”, three days of training and creative activities involving students and lecturers at the Buffon campus.

The initiative is part of the broader Gran Tour AFAM project – supported by Next Generation EU in partnership with RUFA – Rome University of Fine Arts, project leader, and with the Accademia Teatro alla Scala – aimed at promoting the internationalization of higher artistic and musical education institutes. Istituto Modartech also took part, further strengthening the multidisciplinary nature of an event held under the patronage of the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris, which supports the cultural and international value of the initiative by fostering dialogue between Italian creativity and the French artistic context.

The FellinIAna project, first presented in Rome on July 4 with an exhibition of 15 works created by students of Accademia Italiana – including garments, sketches, jewelry, photographs, and short films – was conceived as a contemporary tribute to the aesthetics, poetics, and visionary, dreamlike power of Federico Fellini, who continues to inspire generations of creatives around the world. The exhibition and the official publication “FellinIAna: Rome, Women, and Dreams”, published by Gangemi Editore, were showcased during the Paris event, marking an important milestone in the project’s international journey.

FellinIAna goes to Paris is part of a broader European-oriented educational project: Accademia Italiana and ECV – both part of the international AD Education network – collaborated on a three-day artistic and design immersion dedicated to Fellini’s legacy. A unique opportunity for creative exchange and cultural dialogue among young designers, graphic artists, art directors, and future professionals.

The Paris days blended learning, experimentation, and international collaboration, with a series of lectures exploring the relationship between Fellini, Made in Italy, and contemporary imagination – featuring contributions from Prof. Simone Fattori, Alessandra Carta, Creative Director of Istituto Modartech, and Prof. Francesca Pedroni of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala – as well as the creative workshop Fellini Reloaded, where Italian and French students, working in mixed, interdisciplinary groups guided by lecturers Chiara Ruberti, Ilenia Alesse, and Simone Fattori, imagined how Maestro Fellini might portray the present day in a contemporary film.

The event concluded with the presentation of the exhibition FellinIAna: Rome, Women, Dreams, accompanied by the workshop outcomes, featuring contributions from Fabio Mongelli, Director of the Grand Tour AFAM project; Filippo Pernisco, Academic Director of Accademia Italiana; Didier Clain, Program Coordinator of International Graphic Design at ECV Paris; Nathalie Winkelmann, Academic Coordinator of Design at ECV Paris; and all the Accademia Italiana faculty involved in the FellinIAna project.

With this initiative, Accademia Italiana renews its commitment to enhancing the talent of young creatives and promoting an international dialogue rooted in the vast Italian cultural tradition. An ideal bridge between Rome and Paris, under the sign of Fellini, his view of the world, and his ability to transform reality into vision.
