CIANS convention 2024
CIANS convention at MAXXI Museum in Rome to take stock of AFAM sector
CIANS convention at MAXXI Museum in Rome to take stock of AFAM sector
Rome, January 23, 2024
The event program was developed in two different phases: a first part that was purely conference-based, with a panel of top-notch speakers, and a second part with a focus devoted to the conclusions of the thematic roundtables, which were Quality Assurance; Centrality of the Student; Promotion and Internationalization; Research, Innovation, PhD.
Opening the proceedings, moderated by fashion reporter and TV author Valeria Oppheneimer, CIANS President Fabio Mongelli who, presenting the activities of the Coordination, framed the contribution of non-state institutions in the reference scenario: 149 Afam institutions, 90 thousand students, 15.8% internationalization rate.
In this context, the Academy returns to be a place of sharing, of human and cultural growth, which pays even more attention to the active involvement of students, bringing them to the forefront. The wellbeing of the community becomes a priority, putting Psychological Wellbeing at the center, which is sought through the implementation of listening services, and the introduction of specialized figures capable of understanding the discomforts that students may feel and proposing solutions integrated with academic life.
The focus becomes experiencing and learning rather than competing: learning experiences are developed both individually and as a group in order to foster student cooperation, with a focus on reducing competition and increasing cooperative and laboratory learning opportunities. One aspect that demonstrates its full value is that of internship and collaborative experiences with companies and partners: this is one of the shared virtues of CIANS institutions and a topic of comparison that allows to appreciate the work done by the academies through the placement and career offices, seeking to offer students much more than creative and design skills, thinking about the ability to design their own futures and careers.
