The FRANCESCA COTTONE brand is launched in September 2020 with the SS21 Maing+Gender = Human collection, in which it showcases an eclectic mix of design, attention to detail, fabric refinement, and broad color palettes. The brand's core business is the meticulous study of outerwear, recalling the Italian tailoring tradition, including coats, blazers and suits.

Francesca Cottone products are 100% Made in Italy and focus on minimalist lines, elegant design, and a strong focus on sustainability and cultural heritage. These characteristics make it a continuous choice by show business personalities, including Maneskin, Achille Lauro, Cesare Cremonini, and Il Volo.

The brand’s recent experience in Seoul offered valuable insights into the evolving Korean market, where post-pandemic changes have redefined color palettes, tastes, and demographics.

Following this experience, Francesca Cottone asked third-year Fashion Design students to develop a capsule collection taking into account the new brand image focused on the Korean market. There are three main themes they can follow:

SYMBIOSIS: This theme explores the fusion of body and metropolis by redefining the boundary between utility and desire and imagining a city like a second skin.

SUBLIME: The romance of the beauty of darkness, it explores the emotional possibilities at the boundary between beauty and destruction. This theme embraces a nostalgic yet contemporary aesthetic.

INSIDE: In a world disconnected from nature, fashion acts as a means to reconnect with our fundamental ties to the earth, where genuine opulence is based on sustainability and the essence of raw materials.
