to the students of the Accademia Italiana of Florence and Rome at the inauguration of the design exhibition and the fashion show
The Mayor of Florence, Matteo Renzi, participated in the year-end events proposed by the students of the courses of fashion design, graphic design, interior and product design, graphic design, photography and new media and jewelry design (schools in Florence and Rome).
During the opening of these events he greeted the nearly 2000 invited guests.
Here is a synthesis of his remarks:
"For my part I send my greetings and my compliments for the work that you have done as well as a message for the Accademia Italiana and for all of us. I believe that the choice this year of the theme "Body and Soul" is also a message for our city.
The body of the city is the substance of the many things that our cities, Florence and Rome can give in the times in which we are now living. We have, however, the need for a lot of Soul and enthusiasm in our ability to rediscover our values.
For this reason I really like the idea of this year-end event not only a fashion show but also a provocation for our city, to undertake that same theme "Body and Soul" in our daily lives, as a positive sign of hope.
To all those present I give a warm welcome to Florence, and to the students, Good luck!"
