Alessia places third in Istanbul

The award winning mini-collection designed by Alessia Firrincieli expresses nature and well-being.

The student, currently in the third year of the Fashion Design program at Accademia Italiana in Rome, won third prize in the 12th annual international fabric design contest 2017 in Istanbul. Together with the prize Alessia was awarded a check for 2500 Euro and an internship with a company of her choice in Ithib (the organization promoting the event), and an invitation to participate in the Premier Vision fair in Paris in February 2018. The contest consisted of designing and creating prints for textiles according to the specific brief, destined for a high fashion collection. Alessia came through with light-weight fabrics like chiffon with a digital print that evokes nature, flowers, flowing water, elements combined artfully with rigid geometrics to signify the contradictions present in each one of us.
