Design is sustainable at Green Factory Festival

The Florence of tomorrow is always greener: from 16 to 19 November Accademia Italiana students design the sustainable future of design, fashion, and urban planning taking part in the new edition of Green Factory, festival sponsored by the Heyart Association which will take place at the Tepidarium del Roster, in the Horticulture Garden. Four days dedicated to the theme of Regeneration together with artists, designers, industry experts, popularizers, activists but also emerging brands at the forefront of sustainability.

On occasion of the Festival, Fashion, Graphic, Photography and Design students will exhibit their best creations designed with a sustainable approach. Starting from the “4R” of circular economy: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, on which the manifestation bases its foundations, the young creatives elaborated graphics, garments, shots and projects with a “green” soul.

With the coordination of Professor Walter Conti, the creatives of Graphic Design Bachelor Course have competed to give a new look to the traditional aluminum water bottles, in collaboration with Publiacqua: the top 10 will be exhibited during the event. The students of Product Design Master Course under the guidance of Lorenzo Pofferi, instead, took the field to design an element of urban furniture made of material obtained from the recycling of plastics: the vote is open on @greenapesjungle, the app that turns sustainable actions into donations. The best will be built and installed in Q5 by the City of Florence.

Off to Fashion Design, Sunday 19 at 7.30 pm: the senior students close the event with the parade of a men/ women/ genderless collection from the green approach, mixing innovative materials made available by Tyvek by DuPont, with sustainable and waste fabrics. For the duration of the event the Tepidarium del Roster will host the photographic exhibition "The Witnesses of Our Time" created by Master’s Photography students, coordinated by Chiara Ruberti and Dario Orlandi: in the objective the Monumental Trees of Florence, a natural heritage handed down over the centuries, silent guardians of the past and witnesses of a generational transition to a greener future.

On the occasion of the Festival it will be possible to participate in the workshop of the professor of Graphic Design and illustrator Pilar Roca. Thursday, November 16 from 10 to 13 awaits you "Botanika", a workshop of naturalistic illustration where, with watercolors and pencils, you can let your talent flourish in a bouquet of ideas.
