The ACCADEMIA ITALIANA presented fashion trends for the year 2999 at the ERA 2000 exhibition held in Trieste.
On December 10, 1999 the students in the advanced course and the masters course of Fashion Design presented a performance entitled "Trend 2999".
Spectators were able to enjoy the student's ideas for what to expect in fashion 1000 years from now. The public and the press responded enthusiastically, as did the scientists present, among them Margherita Hack who greatly appreciated the designs inspired by the relationship between science and fantasy.
