Show costumes by Fashion Design students are staged in a play

Accademia Italiana and Murmuris for the theater play “Maybe a City”

A new collaboration between the students of the Bachelor in Fashion Design of Accademia Italiana and Murmuris for the conception and realization of stage costumes on the occasion of the new theatrical show of the Company.

Accademia Italiana started a new collaboration with Murmuris, a cultural reality born in Florence in 2008 that operates nationally and internationally in the field of live entertainment and the promotion of contemporary theater. The protagonists of the project are second year students of the Bachelor in Fashion Design who will have to design and create stage clothes for the next theatrical show "Maybe a city".

Our young creatives will have to imagine stage clothes. Not costumes, but clothes, to be used in our daily life, both outside and on stage. Layered dresses, from the most external to the most intimate-epidermal.

Following the story of the play and the guidelines given by the association, the students will create costumes for the actors and the characters they play. The protagonists are people who carry everything they have. They wear their own home: clothes covers, large but soft structures that create thickness, such as curtains, oversize duvets or extra large coats.

The winning project will be revealed and worn on the occasion of the theatrical premiere on March 21 at the Teatro Cantiere Florida in Florence.
