The black and white photograph taken by Michele Michelsanti, has been chosen for the photo scouting summer 2011 launched by Lavazza.

From more than eight thousand photos in competition, the black and white photograph taken by Michele Michelsanti, has been chosen by the acclaimed jury formed by Francesca Lavazza, Fabio Novembre and Steve McCurry for the photo scouting summer 2011 launched by Lavazza, a famous brand of Italian coffee that has dedicated all its calendars to the art of high quality photography.

The winning photograph is on exhibition until the 9th November at the Triennale di Milano together with 12 photographs of the new Lavazza calendar that also includes famous shots by photographers such as Elliot Erwit, David LaChapelle, Mark Seliger and Erwin Olaf.

Working on the theme Travel and Seduction, Michele Michelsanti, travelling in the Costa del Sol in Spain, created his winning shot in a hotel room. The winning photo features a girl lying on a bed having an afternoon siesta, next to an empty coffee cup carelessly lying by her side.

Given the very high numbers of participants, the challenge was really enormous. In an interview with the Corriere Fiorentino, 19th October 2011, Michele confirmed his professionalism saying that he had arrived at the winning shot after a very long research: "I leave nothing to chance, especially in competitions such as this one, where the participation rate is very high. The photos are not just a shot, they have to be justified, suffered and defended".

Michele is 26 years old, studying for a bachelor's degree in Photography as well as a degree in Electronic Engineering that he has nearly completed and he collaborates with local Florentine newspapers.
