The Accademia Italiana, international Institute of fashion and costume design that has been a reference point for artistic and professional training in Europe for more than a quarter of a century, has inaugurated its new headquarters in Rome at 46, Piazza della Radio

Interesting graphic installations, an exhibition of works by the students and a musical performance provided the creative backdrop for this event, which was attended by big names from the world of cinema and television (such as Academy Award winner Gianni Quaranta, Nora Venturini, Angelo Bucarelli, Nori Corbucci, Gino Giannetti, Nicoletta Ercole, and Manuel De Sica), fashion (designers Ettore Bilotta and Jamal Taslaq), RAI TV director Paolo De Andreis, and politics (Franco Giordano).

The Vice President of AltaRoma Sandro Di Castro arrived with a message of encouragement for the young talents who attend the Accademia Italiana, while the special wishes of the Italian Youth Minister, Giorgia Meloni, were delivered to the students of the Accademia Italiana through the President of the Institute, Vincenzo Giubba.

"I am really delighted - wrote Minister Meloni - that an important Institute of professional training such as the Accademia Italiana is extending its activities in Rome, as an answer to the growing demand of quality training from young talents and their desire to channel their creativity towards such fields that have given so much satisfaction to our Country. I would like to congratulate the Accademia Italiana - continued Minister Meloni - for the work it has been doing with passion and integrity for more than twenty-five years, and the many young people who wish to undertake a difficult path that is capable, however, of fulfilling their highest hopes and aspirations."

In the new facilities on Piazza della Radio, the Bachelor's Degree program in Fashion Design has just been launched as a new entry in the Accademia Italiana educational offer for the 2010/2011 academic year, while the Bachelor's Degree program in Costume Design has been running successfully for the past 6 years. Additionally, a brand new, 3-year program in Jewelry Design is scheduled to begin next year.

The Accademia Italiana has campuses in Florence and in Rome and collaborates with numerous foreign universities, especially in the USA. Academic affiliations are also active in Asia.

Study abroad and exchange programs have involved hundreds of students over the past few years, and the Bachelor's Degree earned upon successful completion of the program of studies is validated and awarded by the prestigious University of Wales (UK).
