Pitti Uomo 104, Accademia Italiana brings students' limitless creativity to the streets

On Tuesday, June 13, during the opening of the Florentine fashion week, fashion takes the streets with the school’s final projects. Fashion parades and visual installations give life to Multimania.


A flash fashion parade to color Piazza Pitti, where everything was born, in the evening that opens the Florentine fashion week: in the occasion of the next edition of Pitti Uomo (13-16 June 2023), Accademia Italiana takes the boundless creativity of Fashion Design students to the streets, with a performance by choreographer Jari Boldrini.


Tuesday, June 13 at 20.30 appointment with "Multimania", an event designed to enhance the fact of not having imposed limits on creativity and individual expression of young talents. Protagonists: the outfits designed and made by the students. A moment of joy to share right in front of the entrance of the Florentine headquarters of Accademia Italiana, in Piazza Pitti 15. It will follow a dj set and a visual installation on site (by invitation).


The Florentine Fashion Week will also feature students engaged in a three-day workshop "Ever-mending - Stories of clothes and creative transformation", created by Mending for Good, an agency specialized in circular and ethical design solutions.

At the end of the project, Thursday, June 15 at 16.30 will be held a talk on the theme of heritage & sustainability, in the presence of Alessandra Favalli, founder and co-owner of Mending for Good, Diane Becker, spokesperson of Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, Debora Florio of Remake, a global defense organization that leads a collective action to overturn the clothing industry, Alessandro Colombo, Managing Director of the BAD Education Group. Following a presentation of the final works of the students and a cocktail in the panoramic Loggia of the Accademia Italiana headquarters in Piazza Pitti.


Leica, on the other hand, will partner with "A Day with Leica - Pitti Uomo edition", a special session of street photography on the theme of "Pitti People", which will involve the students of the first and second year of the three-year course in Photography: under the guidance of professor and coordinator Dario Orlandi, the crew will take snapshots of the fashion people, capturing the most iconic outfits of this edition and the trends that will mark next season.
