On July 5 at h. 18,30 in the exhibition space of Rome’s new Rinascente in Via del Tritone the exhibition STONE DESIGN will be inaugurated.

This project, launched by the Accademia Italiana arte moda design and involving students from the bachelor’s degree programs in Interior and Product Design of the Florence and Rome headquarters, honors a material that has forever accompanied humankind: the stone.
On the -1 level of the mega-store, in the area where the remains of the Aqua Virgo – the Roman era aqueduct uncovered during the construction of the new building – will create an interesting dialog with the present day through the exhibition of various objects created in Santafiora stone, marble and Lecce stone.

This initiative comes out of the teamwork that involved students and instructors of the Accademia Italiana in partnership with Santafiora Stone, Monitillo Marmi and Lotriglia & Tarantino.
These three industries have developed, together with the students, the ideas proposed, creating prototypes, as they have given important support to the students as they faced the complexities presented by each material.
The results are tableware, lamps, furnishings, of a contemporary and essential line that exalts the stone, focusing the attention on this prime material. Stone, with its many finishes, i salso the inspiration for the students in the courses of Fashion Design and Jewelry Design from the Rome headquarters of the school, as their creations complete the exhibition, furnishing an ulterior interpretation of the material.

The Stone Design project was developed in the classrooms and laboratories of the school as another proof as how creativity is an infinite resource, as well as testifying to the importance to the Accademia of promoting the works of its students.
The exhibition will be open to the public until July 25, during store hours
